2023 Holiday Party
For our 2023 holiday party, our staff took a trip to Wax Buffalo to make our own candles. What a fun and relaxing activity this was! We are always looking for a chance to support a local business in any way we can. Check out some of the results of our candle making!
Boo at the Zoo
Boo at the Zoo is Lincoln’s largest Trick or Treat event! We love setting up our booth, handing out treats, and seeing everyone’s amazing costumes! We see over 11,000 kids each year at this event, and it is a great way to share more about our clinic and the services we provide for the community! Since this is event takes place over 5 days, we are always looking for volunteers to help. If you are a college student looking for a fun environment and volunteering hours, be sure to reach out to us to see how you can help! You won’t want to miss it!
Lincoln Stars Hockey
Sharing an office with Floss Family Dental means joint holiday parties! Our 2022 Holiday party consisted of dinner at the Scarlet Hotel and a Lincoln Stars Hockey Game. We enjoyed cheering on the Stars and supporting a local sports team! If you haven’t been to a game, we highly recommend it; it is a great time!
NSSLHA Student Share Fair
We were invited by the Nebraska Student Speech Language Hearing Association to participate in the NSSLHA 2022 Student Share Fair. At this event, undergraduate students who are studying to become Speech Language Pathologists are welcome to attend and learn more about different settings of our profession. This was a great opportunity for us to meet students in our surrounding community and spread awareness of one our specialties, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy!
Pumpkin Run
In October of 2022, Our staff sponsored a booth at the Annual Pumpkin Run. The Pumpkin run is a 1 mile kids fun run that takes place in the heart of Lincoln, the Historic Haymarket. At this event our staff hosted a ‘sucker pull’, and the winners enjoyed a pair of thunderstick noise makers! We even recruited some help from our family members to help make this booth possible! We were overjoyed with the amount of support that the participants showed to our clinic, and were thrilled to return the support to the runners and families! As an added bonus, we were SO lucky to be booth neighbors with our friends at Nebraska Orthodontics!
Of the Earth
Our team loves to get together outside of work to enjoy different activities out in the community! Of the Earth Floral is a beautiful floral shop with natural plants and local merchandise. We were able to choose a plant, pot it, and take it home with us. The next time you see your therapist, ask them how their plant is growing!
Cavett Fun Night
We had a blast sponsoring the Cavett Elementary School Fun Night! It is always an honor to sponsor our Lincoln schools and spread awareness of speech and language, while also having some fun. We hope everyone enjoyed their SWEET treats!
Breathe Institute Collaboration
Alongside Floss Family Dental, we were able to host The Breathe Institute team for a few days of jam-packed learning to discover new ways to serve our patients in the best way possible. Dr. Souroush Zaghi, MD, shared a wealth of knowledge surrounding the function of oral structures on systems such as breathing, feeding/swallowing, sleeping, and speaking. The information learned provided us with skills, tools, and strategies needed to enhance our patient’s care and progress. Reach out to us if you would like to learn more!
Nebraska Buddy Walk
Kelly and her family were able to participate in the Nebraska Buddy Walk sponsored by the Down Syndrome Advocates in Action Nebraska in partnership with the National Down Syndrome Society. This is an annual event that promotes advocacy, inclusion, and acceptance of individuals with down syndrome. We are always looking for events to spread awareness and knowledge for those with disabilities!
